With copays, deductibles and pre-authorization requirements, getting the right care isn’t always easy.
If dental procedure (example: root canal treatment, extraction) is initiated by a participating general dentist but it is later determined by the participating general dentist that it needs to be referred to a dental specialist, the dental procedure will not be covered under the plan. The patient will be responsible for the cost of treatment by the dental specialist.
